System's performance measurements

Gathering data about the production system is an important step to realize what might be wrong and what might need some changes. In order to better understand our production system, we measured aspects like our Takt Time and Cycle Time. The theoretical number of workstations was also calculated which is 3 in our company’s case.

The Takt Time value is 6,8s, which means there is no more than 6,8s to produce each package. We estimated a Cycle Time of about 6,6s, which means there are 9 packages being produced every minute. The system’s utilization rate is close to 90%.
